Regional cultural and economic events highlight tobacco and gastronomy sectors
The sixth edition of Bohemios Cigar Night was held at the Santiago Country Club, highlighting the Cibao region as a central hub for the Dominican premium tobacco industry. The event brought together manufacturers, growers, and enthusiasts from various locations, including New York, Miami, and Atlanta, to showcase the quality and economic strength of the sector. The tobacco industry in the Dominican Republic is a significant economic driver, generating approximately 122,000 jobs.
In Mexico, the 18th edition of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica is scheduled for October 4–7. Featuring over 80 national and international experts, including chefs and mixologists, the event will take place across Puerto Vallarta, San Sebastián del Oeste, Riviera Nayarit, and Bucerías. The previous edition generated an economic impact of nearly 300 million pesos and attracted over 14,000 attendees, underscoring the importance of gastronomic tourism for the Jalisco and Nayarit regions.
