Regional cultural events held in Celano and Isernia
Various cultural events are taking place in Italy to preserve regional history and sports heritage. In Celano, the third edition of ‘Giorni dell’Ascolto’ is being held at Parco delle Rimembranze. The event features the presentation of the book ‘Vito Taccone: il camoscio d’Abruzzo’ by Federico Falcone, which explores the life and career of the Abruzzese cycling champion. Additionally, a career award will be presented to Vittoriano Tirabassi, an amateur cyclocross world champion.
In Isernia, a presentation for the essay ‘Storie e leggende di Ninco Nanco. Capo brigante lucano’ will be held at Vico Benedetto. Written by Valentino Romano and Leonardo Zaccagnino, the book examines the figure of Giuseppe Nicola Summa, known as Ninco Nanco. The authors aim to recontextualize the history of brigandage not as mere criminality, but as a civil war and peasant revolt stemming from the social disillusionment following Italian unification.
