Regional cultural events held in Lower Austria and Germany
The 76th Lower Austrian Almwandertag took place at Kapleralm in the Reinsberg municipality, focusing on the importance of mountain agriculture for nature, tourism, and the economy. Attendees, including Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner, gathered to learn about the role of alpine pastures in maintaining cultural landscapes and regional food production. With approximately 120 cattle grazing across 108 alpine pastures in Lower Austria, the event highlighted how traditional farming methods meet modern requirements to preserve habitats.
In Germany, the Antrifttaler Bierwanderung is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Scheduled for August 22, the event features ten stations across the districts of Ohmes, Ruhlkirchen, and Seibelsdorf. Participants can enjoy various beers and foods while navigating via provided maps and QR codes. The event includes a safety concept involving the Antrifttal Fire Department and the DRK Kirtorf local branch, as well as charity collection boxes for the association ‘Alsfeld erfüllt Herzenswünsche e. V.’
