Rostock Botanical Garden to host 48th State Mushroom Exhibition

The University of Rostock Botanical Garden is hosting its 48th State Mushroom Exhibition on September 26 and 27. The event aims to showcase up to 250 different species of mushrooms freshly collected from the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region and its surroundings.

In addition to the display, the exhibition offers expert advice to help visitors identify various species, understand their natural habitats, and learn proper harvesting techniques. This educational component is intended to prevent the accidental collection of poisonous or inedible varieties. The event, which has been held since 1978, typically attracts up to 3,000 visitors.
