Regional folk festivals celebrate tradition and heritage

Various regional cultural and traditional gatherings were held to preserve local heritage and community identity.

On Jelica Mountain in Brezovica, a folk festival brought together enthusiasts of old crafts and traditional cuisine. More than 50 teams competed in culinary contests, including preparations of potato stew and roasted pig. Participants from different regions shared unique recipes and ingredients to compete for top honors in categories judged on flavor, texture, and cooking technique.

In Ćeklići, the fifth annual Ćeklići Meetings took place at the local community center after a two-year hiatus. The event gathered residents and emigrants to celebrate their roots through cultural programs and music. During the event, Bogdan Kaluđerović, president of the local community, emphasized the importance of maintaining traditions while also highlighting local infrastructure challenges, noting that some nearby villages still lack electricity.
