Regional cultural festivals commence in Pucallpa and Puruándiro

Various regional celebrations are underway in Peru and Mexico. In Pucallpa, Peru, the Coronel Portillo Provincial Municipality has announced the ‘Viva Pucallpa, Ciudad Amazónica’ jubilee week, scheduled from October 5 to 13. The program features an agro-industrial, artisanal, and gastronomic fair, a parade of decorated floats and ‘crazy motokars’, and the Miss Pucallpa 2026 pageant. Other scheduled events include a 10K race, an Amazonian art festival, and a community marriage ceremony.

In Puruándiro, Michoacán, Mayor Víctor Vázquez initiated patriotic festivities with the traditional posting of the ‘Bando Solemne’. The month-long celebration of Mexican independence includes civic and cultural activities, the traditional ‘Grito de Independencia’, and a commemorative parade. Local sporting events, such as the race to the Cerrito de la Cruz and the traditional donkey race, are also part of the municipal program.
