Regional cultural festivals scheduled in Graz and Krün

Regional cultural traditions are taking center stage in Graz, Austria, and Krün, Germany. In Graz, the Krampuslauf is scheduled for November 8, 2026. This year's event is occurring earlier than the traditional period around November 11 due to construction work and overlapping events. The celebration includes a children's program starting at 2:00 PM at Freiheitsplatz, followed by the main procession of Krampus groups featuring elaborate masks and bells at 6:00 PM.

In Krün, the 18th Almfest is set for September 19, 2026. The event marks the traditional cattle drive where approximately 100 cows and calves return from summer pastures. Up to 5,000 spectators are expected to witness the decorated animals and enjoy local food, music, and regional goods from approximately 30 stalls along the route.
