Deutsche Telekom secures 3. Liga media rights through 2031

Deutsche Telekom has secured exclusive live media rights for the German 3. Liga through the 2030/31 season. The agreement, reached with the German Football Association (DFB), ensures that all 380 matches per season, including the promotion play-offs, will be broadcast via MagentaSport and MagentaTV.

Under the new terms, the number of matches available for free-to-air television will decrease. While previous seasons featured 68 matches on ARD, the new contract mandates a minimum of 38 free-to-air matches per season starting from the 2027/28 season. The DFB reported that the rights auction yielded a record result of 124 million euros.

In addition to the 3. Liga, Telekom will also broadcast the 2028 and 2030 men's European Championships, the Frauen-Bundesliga, and various women's tournaments. The deal also includes extensive secondary rights for highlights and near-live clips to increase the league's visibility across digital platforms.
