Regional development and heatwave support discussed in Mungyeong and Gwangju

Mungyeong City held a policy meeting with the Democratic Party of Korea to discuss regional development and request government support. Key proposals included expanding city gas supply, constructing a multi-purpose indoor gymnasium, and establishing cultivation complexes to improve Omija productivity. The city also requested the inclusion of the Jeomchon-Andong railway construction in the 5th National Railway Network Plan.

In Gwangju, National Assembly member Lim Moon-young reported a lack of government support for heatwave response facilities in local traditional markets. Data shows that none of the 25 traditional markets in Gwangju received support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' safety management package this year. Furthermore, 11 markets were excluded from government surveys regarding existing cooling facilities. While the government plans to increase the budget for natural disaster response next year, specific support details for Gwangju remain unconfirmed.
