Regional development initiatives focus on culture and tourism in Portugal

Regional development initiatives are being organized in central Portugal to promote culture and tourism. In Constância, the Intermunicipal Community will host a seminar on September 22 at the Centro Ciência Viva. The event aims to discuss strategies for valuing the Médio Tejo region through creative tourism, cultural heritage, and sustainable territorial development. This seminar is part of the ‘Territorial Platform for Entrepreneurial Discovery of Médio Tejo’, a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) under the Portugal 2030 program.

Additionally, a scientific extension program titled ‘From Regional and Local History to Historical Tourism’ is scheduled for October 24 in Nisa. The session will focus on the Misericórdias of the Nisa municipality, specifically Amieira do Tejo and Arez, and is coordinated by researchers from CIDEHUS-UÉvora and CH-ULisboa.
