Regional development initiatives in Quintana Roo and Zacatecas
In Quintana Roo, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa delivered technological equipment to 189 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MIPYMES) in the southern zone. This initiative, part of the ‘Transforma Tu Negocio 2026’ program, aims to modernize businesses in Othón P. Blanco, Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and José María Morelos. The support, managed by the Secretariat of Economic Development, includes digital tools, point-of-sale systems, and marketing assistance. Notably, 71% of the beneficiaries are women.
In Zacatecas, Mayor Miguel Ángel Varela Pinedo announced the delivery of 800 property deeds to families in the capital. The municipal program focuses on regularizing properties in historically irregular neighborhoods such as Coreas I and II, El Jaralillo, Emilio Jaramillo, Gonzalo García García, and Boquillas. To facilitate the process, the administration implemented a zero percent acquisition tax and waived various technical certification fees to reduce the economic burden on residents.
