Regional development initiatives launch in Barreiras and Currais Novos
In Barreiras, Brazil, the Qualifica CRAS program, managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Labor, is providing professional training in confectionery. The initiative aims to foster autonomy and income generation for residents, particularly those in vulnerable social situations. Participants are receiving practical instruction on various confectionery techniques to prepare them for the job market or self-employment.
In Currais Novos, a capacity-building cycle was held for local social organizations and public institutions to improve their ability to access resources through incentive laws and funds. Organized by Aura Borborema in partnership with Propósito Captação de Recursos, the program included workshops on project structuring, regulatory frameworks, and managing funds related to childhood, adolescence, the elderly, sports, culture, and health. The goal is to provide local institutions with the tools necessary to develop independent projects and secure continuous funding.
