Regional development initiatives launched in Alentejo and Alcanena

The Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) has announced a 1 million euro fund to accelerate the digitalization of local administration. Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) at a maximum rate of 85%, the initiative aims to modernize public services for citizens and businesses. Eligible projects include the dematerialization of processes, the development of electronic services, cybersecurity reinforcement, and the integration of artificial intelligence solutions such as automatic translation.

In a separate regional development initiative, Startup Leiria and the Municipality of Alcanena have launched the ‘Academy for Growth’ acceleration program. Hosted at the TEAR Alcanena incubator, this free program provides entrepreneurs and startups with eleven weeks of mentorship and training. The curriculum covers business models, market entry strategies, legal aspects, and the use of artificial intelligence to optimize operations, concluding with a ‘Demo Day’ for project presentations.
