Regional development initiatives launched in Calabria and Umbria

The Polo Nazionale Droni has appointed Antonio Mazza as the territorial coordinator for Calabria. The initiative aims to map and connect regional companies, professionals, startups, universities, and research centers active in the UAS (unmanned aerial systems), aerospace, sensor technology, and geoinformation sectors. The goal is to transform isolated expertise into a structured regional network that fosters collaboration and strengthens Calabria’s connection to national technological initiatives.

In Umbria, regional authorities and the Agency for the Right to Study (Adisu) are exploring new ways to retain young talent following graduation. An institutional meeting was held to discuss creating a stable collaboration between institutions, universities, and the productive system. One proposed mechanism is the establishment of a participatory foundation designed to support recent graduates in accessing advanced training, research, and qualified employment, ensuring that local skills remain within the territory.
