Regional development planning initiatives underway in Guatemala and Peru

Regional development authorities in Guatemala and Peru are conducting meetings and workshops to advance local planning and security.

In Guatemala, the Departmental Council for Development (CODEDE) has rescheduled its next meeting to October 27 in Mataquescuintla. The meeting, coordinated by SEGEPLAN, will address food security and the progress of extraordinary physical and financial projects. Discussions also include addressing crime, extortion, and organized crime through police and military intelligence to improve citizen security.

In Peru, the district of Caylloma held its first informative workshop regarding the creation of its Local Concerted Development Plan (PDCL). Supported by specialists from the National Center for Strategic Planning (CEPLAN), the workshop aimed to involve local authorities and civil society in defining long-term development priorities and addressing territorial needs.
