Regional development programs announced in Moldova and Romania

In Moldova, the Municipal Personal Development Program is launching a new module titled ‘Self-Knowledge’ for youth in Chișinău. Running from September 24 to October 9, the program will be held across five Youth Centers, including Mitropolit Varlaam, Ciocana, Râșcani, Botanica, and Buiucani. The sessions will cover topics such as personal identity, individual resources, emotions, and self-confidence.

In Romania, Economy Minister Irineu Darău announced that a second session of the Startup Nation program is expected to launch this autumn. The program includes mandatory entrepreneurship courses as a prerequisite for accessing non-reimbursable grants of up to 250,000 lei per company. The first session saw over 11,000 entrepreneurs complete the courses, with approximately 7,923 firms applying for funding. Due to remaining budget surpluses, the upcoming session is projected to offer around 10,000 course placements and approximately 2,000 grants.
