Regional developments in Rondônia and Roraima involve water security and debt settlements
In Rondônia, State Deputy Dr. Benedito Alves is calling for a preventive water supply plan to mitigate the impacts of the dry season. The proposal emphasizes the need for early action to protect rural and riverside communities that depend on river levels for basic needs. Key components of the suggested plan include mapping vulnerable areas, monitoring climate and river levels, and establishing municipal emergency logistics to prevent water shortages from becoming full-scale emergencies.
Meanwhile, in Roraima, the state government has opened a new round for the early payment of court-ordered debts (precatórios). Through a partnership between the State Attorney General's Office (PGE-RR) and the Court of Justice of Roraima (TJRR), creditors can request early settlement for a total of R$ 15.8 million. Participation is voluntary and involves a discount on the total updated value, which can reach up to 40% depending on the credit type.
