Regional developments in Uruguay healthcare and Colombian water security

In Uruguay, officials from the medical cooperative CAMCEL met with Cerro Largo Intendant Christian Morel to review expansion works at Sanatorio 1, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year. Dr. Felipe Ricagni noted that CAMCEL employs 1,017 staff members and supports the local economy by sourcing supplies from regional businesses. The meeting also highlighted an ongoing agreement between the Intendencia and the cooperative for municipal employee healthcare.

In Colombia, the Corporación Autónoma Regional de Cundinamarca (CAR) has signed a memorandum of understanding with nine municipalities to combat water shortages caused by drought. The initiative involves an investment of approximately 4.477 billion pesos aimed at ecological restoration, protecting water sources, and implementing sustainable productive reconversion. The plan covers 34.6 hectares of aquifer recharge zones and water springs to mitigate the effects of the El Niño phenomenon.
