Regional District of Nanaimo Approves Minor Boundary Change for 16 Properties

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has received provincial approval to adjust a minor boundary between Electoral Area A (Cedar, South Wellington, Yellowpoint, Cassidy) and Electoral Area C (Extension, Nanaimo Lakes, East Wellington, Pleasant Valley). The change will affect 16 properties located on Plecas and Evans Roads.

According to the district’s release, the redefinition resolves long‑standing boundary misalignments, addresses service‑related inconsistencies, and aligns boundaries with how services are delivered. The request was submitted to British Columbia’s Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs, and further implementation details will be provided later. Board chair Stuart McLean said the update will make services clearer and more consistent for the affected residents and property owners.
