Regional economic development initiatives announced in Khuzestan and South Khorasan

In Khuzestan, the head of the Ahvaz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Shahla Amouriruz, has called for a cohesive economic development plan. She emphasized the need for an integrated database of production units to improve transparency, monitor employment, and guide investment. Amouriruz also stressed the importance of aligning the Arvand Free Zone's activities with provincial economic programs to prevent duplication of efforts and increase effectiveness.

In South Khorasan, Hossein Afshin, the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, announced efforts to strengthen the province's technology chains. Highlighting the region's potential in mining, saffron, and barberry, Afshin noted that approximately 150 billion tomans in facilities have been approved by the Innovation and Prosperity Fund to support knowledge-based companies in the area. The visit aims to identify specific support needs for local science parks and universities to foster a stronger technological ecosystem.
