Regional economic growth reported in Nunukan and Pekanbaru

Regional economic data for Indonesia shows varying growth rates across different provinces. In Nunukan Regency, the economy grew by 3.95 percent in the second quarter of 2026. While this rate is slower than the growth seen in Bulungan Regency and Tarakan City, Nunukan remains a significant economic driver for North Kalimantan, contributing 27.05 percent to the province's total economy.

In Pekanbaru, Riau, the economy recorded a growth rate of 7.39 percent. Local officials attribute this movement to improved infrastructure, which has enhanced mobility and stimulated trade and consumption. Additionally, government policies, such as the timely payment of civil servant incentives and teacher bonuses, have helped maintain economic circulation within the city.
