Regional educational and environmental initiatives launched in Bulgaria and Croatia

Regional educational and environmental initiatives are underway in Bulgaria and Croatia to support youth development and community awareness.

In Bulgaria, the Regional Management of Education – Dobrich has successfully enrolled 52 children and students into kindergartens and schools through its ‘Educated Today, Successful Tomorrow’ project. Launched in October, the project involves 53 partner institutions, including the municipalities of Dobrich, Kavarna, and Dobrichka. To date, teams have conducted 366 physical visits to addresses of children at risk of dropping out or not enrolled. The initiative, valued at approximately 199,416.87 euros, also includes training for 114 specialists and the appointment of educational mediators. The project is scheduled to continue until April 27, 2027.

In Croatia, the RCGO Piškornica project has distributed 2,000 educational coloring books to kindergartens within the Koprivnica-Križevci County. The materials are designed to teach young children about proper waste management and environmental responsibility through play and coloring. The initiative aims to foster long-term responsible waste management habits by engaging children in a way suited to their age group.
