Regional educational initiatives focus on cultural heritage and identity
In Argentina, the Provincial Council of Education supported the 25th edition of “La Semana de la Patagonia” at Provincial Primary School No. 52 in Pico Truncado. This pedagogical and cultural event aimed to strengthen bilingual intercultural education and regional identity. Students participated in interdisciplinary exhibitions, including Mapuche dances and legends, involving community members such as Rolando Álvarez Antilef from the Mapuche-Tehuelche Nehuén Mullfuñ community.
In Chile, the Biobío Regional Heritage Education Table held its first seminar to discuss the implementation of the 2024–2029 Heritage Education Policy. The event brought together educators, librarians, and museum representatives to share regional experiences and methodologies. The policy, developed by the ministries of Culture and Education, serves as a roadmap to strengthen educational practices and territorial knowledge through collaborative networks.
