Regional environmental initiatives target plastic and food waste

Various regional initiatives in Serbia and Croatia are focusing on environmental education and waste reduction. In Vršac, Serbia, the association ‘Iz principa’ held an informative campaign at the Agriko market. Local officials and activists engaged with citizens to promote reducing single-use plastic and adopting more sustainable daily habits to improve the city's cleanliness.

In Zagreb, Croatia, the theater KNAP hosted a workshop and the premiere of the eco-film ‘Bez bacanja, molim!’ (Please, Don't Throw It Away!). The program aimed to teach children and parents how to prevent food waste. The initiative addresses the significant issue of food loss, noting that approximately 482,000 tons of food waste are generated annually in Croatia.
