Regional events held in Kurdistan province, Iran

In Kurdistan, Iran, officials and religious leaders held events focused on social welfare and cultural recognition. Ali-Akbar Varmaqani, the political, security, and social deputy governor of Kurdistan, honored employees of the provincial Department of Sports and Youth. Varmaqani highlighted the social vitality brought by sports and noted the achievements of Kurdish athletes in the Olympics and Paralympics. He addressed challenges such as high costs for equipment and international travel, as well as staffing shortages caused by government policies regarding the separation of executive and operational roles.

Simultaneously, the national conference ‘Kurdish Woman, the Standard Woman of Islamic Iran’ commenced in the province. Hojatoleslam Payam Abdolmaleki, director of the female seminaries in Kurdistan, announced that the event includes a scientific component featuring 91 evaluated articles and a cultural festival with 150 entries in categories such as painting, photography, and poetry.
