Regional events scheduled in Biarritz and Bilbao

Two distinct regional events are scheduled for late 2026 in the Basque regions.

In Biarritz, the 21st edition of the Lurrama peasant agriculture fair will take place from November 6 to 8 at the Iraty halls. Organized by Euskal Herriko Laborantza Ganbara (EHLG), the event focuses on the theme “Water: A Common Resource,” addressing concerns regarding water scarcity following recent heatwaves and fires. The fair will feature five conferences on the social and agricultural importance of water and will host the Ardèche region as a special guest.

In Bilbao, the second BizkaiSare conference will be held on October 26 and 27 at the Bizkaia Areto. Organized by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the event focuses on community development and social cohesion. Key topics include the prevention of unwanted loneliness, the design of shared habitats, and community action as a driver for physical and mental health. The conference will feature international perspectives from speakers representing Chile, the European Union, and Denmark.
