Regional fairs held in Huércal-Overa and Alhama de Murcia

Local festivities are underway in several Spanish municipalities. In Huércal-Overa, the town has launched its major annual fair, which runs until October 20. Mayor Domingo Fernández emphasized the significant logistical responsibility involved in managing the large crowds, noting that the local government has coordinated with the Guardia Civil, local police, firefighters, and the Red Cross to ensure public safety and cleanliness.

In Alhama de Murcia, the Feria de Alhama, held in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, concluded its two-week program of concerts, parades, and community activities. The celebration featured a colorful float parade where the group Puerorum took first prize with a ‘Stranger Things’-inspired entry. The event also included live musical performances by artists such as Isabel Aaiún and Ruth Lorenzo, traditional food competitions, and charitable initiatives, including a dog run to support the Mi Princesa Rett association.
