Morón: National Aeronautics Museum to mark 100 years of the airfield

The National Aeronautics Museum (MNA), located within the Morón Military Air Base, will host a historical event on Saturday, October 31, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Presidente Rivadavia Airfield.

The program will feature several expert presentations. Retired Major Walter M. Bentancor and Chief Petty Officer Mauricio Suárez will discuss the airfield's history from its founding in 1926 until 1951, when it transitioned into a military base. Architect Pablo Luciano Potenze will present on the airfield's commercial era and its role in passenger transport, while Professor Carlos Lupiañez will address the current state and future evolution of the facilities.

Originally established to centralize civil aviation, the site has served various roles, including a customs zone and a mixed-use airport, before becoming the headquarters for the VII Air Brigade in 1951.
