Regional festivals in Argentina and Bolivia crown new cultural queens

Local communities in Argentina and Bolivia have held traditional ceremonies to crown new cultural representatives.

In El Tío, Argentina, Renata Juárez was crowned Queen for 2026 and 2027 during a celebration held at the El Trébol B. C. hall. The event, which honors Santa Teresa, included the crowning of several other titles, including Mini Queen Patronal Ana Paula Cabral. Upcoming festivities for the town will include religious services, a procession, a gaucho parade, and a folk music festival.

In San José de Chiquitos, Bolivia, Fabiana Thais Ribera Hurtado was crowned Reina de la Tradición Josesana. The celebration focused on Chiquitano identity, featuring traditional attire such as tipoyes and reenactments of historical daily life, including scenes of water carriers and harvesters. The event served as a communal reaffirmation of regional history and customs.
