Regional festivals launch in Ontinyent and Gràcia

Various regional festivals are commencing in Spain. In Ontinyent, the Moros i Cristians festivities are set to begin with a series of traditional events, including the Ball dels Llauradors and the Esmorzar de la Llàgrima to honor deceased participants. The official opening will feature the presentation of festival officers and a proclamation by architect Ramón Esteve.

In Barcelona, the Festa Major de Gràcia has launched with a proclamation by journalist and historian Vicenç Sanclemente. During his speech, Sanclemente addressed social issues facing the neighborhood, specifically calling for a pact against gentrification and speculative capitalism. He noted that over 6,000 residents have left the Gràcia district in the last decade due to rising housing costs, and advocated for community-led solutions to protect the area's identity.
