Global cultural and social events: Obon, summer festivals, and regional services

Various regional cultural and social events are taking place across Spain, Argentina, Japan, and Venezuela.

In Japan, the Obon tradition is being observed from August 13 to 16, as families gather to honor ancestors through rituals and visits to family graves.

In Argentina, the Susepu is providing information on the Provincial Electric Social Tariff at the Jujuy Book Fair to assist vulnerable families. Meanwhile, in Catamarca, a tourist bus is offering guided tours through local heritage sites, including Casa de la Puna and the Virgin del Valle Grotto. In San Luis, festivities for Children's Day include musical performances and activities at Parque de las Naciones.

In Spain, diverse summer activities are underway, including flamenco festivals in San Fernando and l’Alfàs del Pi, music and worship weeks in Dénia, and various local patron saint festivals in the Valencian Community. In Tarifa, a gastronomic event recreates an almadraba to offer free samples of mojama. In Madrid, traditional August festivities continue in various neighborhoods.

In Venezuela, a mobile administrative unit in El Hatillo is facilitating vehicle documentation processes, including driver's licenses and vehicle transfers, in partnership with the INTT.
