Regional film festivals launch traveling programs in Croatia and North Macedonia
Several film festivals are promoting regional cinema through traveling programs. In Croatia, the second Macedonian Film Festival has launched in Split, focusing this year on Macedonian documentary films. The festival opened at the Zlatna Vrata Cultural Center with the documentary-drama ‘Iron Fortress’ by director Mitko Panov. The event aims to strengthen cultural ties between Macedonia and Croatia and provide a platform for Macedonian filmmakers to gain international visibility.
In North Macedonia, the International Short Film Festival Alexandria (IASFF) from Greece has brought its traveling program, ‘Stories from the Balkans – on the road’, to Bitola. The program features ten selected short films from the festival’s 11th edition, which highlights new cinematic voices from the Balkan region. Screenings are scheduled at the 3D Kino Bitola on September 10 and 11.
