Regional film project brings culture to Campo Grande students

Students from the Escola Municipal Professor Licurgo de Oliveira Bastos participated in free screenings of the film ‘Lendas Pantaneiras’ at Cinépolis in the Norte Sul Plaza shopping center. The initiative, which targeted children aged 8 to 12, is part of the ‘Lendas Pantaneiras Escola & Cinema’ project, funded by the Fundo Municipal de Investimentos Culturais (FMIC/2024).

To facilitate participation, the project provided round-trip transportation, tickets, popcorn, and soda. The film, produced in Mato Grosso do Sul, features stories inspired by regional folklore and includes scenes filmed at local landmarks such as the Museu José Antônio Pereira, the old Noroeste do Brasil Railway Station, and Parque do Prosa.

The program aims to expand access to audiovisual productions for public school students and strengthen their connection to the culture of Mato Grosso do Sul by showcasing familiar local landscapes and stories.
