Regional filmmakers honored at Tuzla and KineNova film festivals
Several regional filmmakers have received honors at recent film festivals. At the 15th Tuzla Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, actor Izudin Bajrović was presented with the ‘Vila Tuzla Film Festival’ award for his contributions to the development of South Slavic cinema.
The festival also featured the screening of ‘Udovac’, a debut feature film by director Hari Šečić and a Bosnian Oscar candidate. The film follows a man navigating life and loneliness following the death of his wife.
In Skopje, director Miroslav Terzić won the award for Best Direction at the KineNova International Film Festival for his film ‘Three Weeks After’. The jury praised Terzić for his precise tension-building and portrayal of peer violence. The film, which has previously received accolades at Karlovy Vary and Pula, explores themes of collective guilt and responsibility following a tragic loss among high school students.
