Regional filmmakers receive international awards at Martovski and TEF festivals

Several regional filmmakers have received international recognition at recent film festivals.

In Belgrade, the animated film ‘Uroš’ by Montenegrin author Mato Uljarević won the award for best international film at the 73rd Martovski festival. The jury highlighted the film’s expressive, hand-drawn animation technique, which uses paper drawings to create a blend of painting and movement. The film explores surreal fragments from the life of artist Uroš Tošković, serving as an homage to his work and his childhood experiences during World War II.

Additionally, the documentary ‘Kamen drevnog snevača 3’ by Nebojša Ilić Ilke received the third prize from the professional jury in the International Ethno Film category at the 4th TEF Tourist and Ethno Film Festival held on the island of Krk, Croatia. The film is part of a trilogy dedicated to artist Bratislav Anđelković, known as Bata iz Vučja, and focuses on the universal nature of art and its ability to connect people across national and religious boundaries.
