Regional folklore and music festivals announced in Bulgaria and North Macedonia

Various regional festivals are scheduled in Bulgaria and North Macedonia, celebrating folklore, tradition, and music.

In Dorkovo, Bulgaria, the International Folklore Festival is expected to draw nearly 2,000 participants and over 10,000 spectators. The event features singing and dancing performances from domestic and international groups. Mayor Nikolay Kovachev noted that the festival serves as a cultural bridge between generations and nations.

In Kriva Palanka, North Macedonia, a nine-day celebration will run from August 21 to 29. The program includes a football tournament, the 21st St. Joachim of Osogovo International Folklore Festival, and the ‘Shopsko Selo’ event focusing on authentic crafts and customs. The festivities will conclude on August 29 with musical performances by artists including Lepa Brena, Slatkar, and Aco Pejovik.
