Regional folklore festivals held in Zamora and Ourense

Traditional cultural celebrations took place in Spain this weekend, highlighting regional music and dance. In Zamora, the XIV Doña Urraca National Folklore Festival was held at the Teatro Ramos Carrión. The event brought together groups from Burgos, Granada, and Zamora to showcase diverse Spanish traditions, including music, dance, and traditional attire. The festival was supported by the Provincial Council of Zamora and aims to preserve traditional dances for future generations.

In Ourense, the self-managed Bandalho festival took place at Campo da Feira. Designed as an alternative to large-scale summer festivals, the event focused on Galician music and culture. The program included traditional music performances by groups such as Arrepío and Tiro na Testa, alongside workshops for traditional dance, popular games, and community activities intended to engage all age groups.
