Regional food and culture festivals conclude in Italy

Several regional food and culture festivals recently concluded in Italy. In Reggio Calabria, the Scirubetta 2026 festival took place from September 12 to 15, focusing on artisanal gelato and culinary craftsmanship. The event brought together pastry chefs, gelato masters, and producers from various regions and countries, including the United States and Japan, to showcase international techniques alongside local Calabrian ingredients.

In the Friuli region, the 32nd edition of Friuli Doc concluded on September 13. The event, described by Udine Vice Mayor Alessandro Venanzi as a multi-faceted festival, combined gastronomy with music, culture, and sport. Highlights included a large concert by Dargen D’Amico and a cheese auction organized by the Malghesi Cooperative, which raised nearly 2,000 euros to support traditional mountain cheese production.
