Regional gastronomic festivals announce upcoming dates and applications

Several regional gastronomic and agricultural events are preparing for upcoming editions in the Balkans.

In Babušnica, Serbia, the 14th Vurdijada is scheduled for October 17, 2026. The event focuses on promoting 'vurda', a traditional dairy product from the Lužnica region with protected geographical status. The festival will include competitions for the best vurda and national cuisine preparation, alongside exhibitors of honey, spirits, and traditional crafts. Applications for participants and exhibitors are open until October 9.

In Grubišno Polje, Croatia, the 20th Economic Fair of Cheese, Honey, and Porcini Mushrooms will take place on November 14 and 15, 2026. This milestone edition aims to promote local agricultural production and rural entrepreneurship. Organizers have announced that exhibition space will be provided free of charge for producers, including small businesses and traditional artisans.
