Regional gastronomic festivals held in Romania and Serbia
Regional gastronomic events are taking place in Romania and Serbia, highlighting local traditions and producers. In Oradea, the Körösvidéki Múzeum garden is hosting the ‘Bihari ízek és hagyományok’ event. This fourth edition features traditional dishes prepared on-site, such as stuffed cabbage, goulash, and various pancakes, alongside products from local producers like honey and artisanal goods. Folk dance performances are also part of the program.
In Serbia, the 13th season of the ‘Izađi mi na teglu’ ajvar-making caravan begins in Dimitrovgrad. The multi-week competition travels through various towns, including Zaječar, Leskovac, and Požarevac, eventually reaching Vojvodina. Local teams compete using their own recipes to secure a spot in the grand final in Belgrade on October 10. The event aims to promote local values and culinary traditions, having previously inspired numerous households to begin their own ajvar production.
