Regional government initiatives in Risaralda and Atlántico

In Risaralda, the Departmental Health Secretariat is strengthening the public health laboratory network through technical assistance and advisory sessions. Led by Governor Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa, these efforts aim to improve processes and ensure compliance with national quality standards, specifically Resolution 1619 of 2015. A recent technical visit was conducted at the Aliscca SAS laboratory in Pereira to identify areas for improvement and prepare for national authorization processes.

In Atlántico, Governor Eduardo Verano presided over the third ordinary session of the Departmental Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Codecti). The session focused on defining territorial demands and resource allocation for the 2027-2028 period. Verano emphasized using innovation and industrial policy as tools to generate stable employment and economic development, drawing lessons from the Basque Country's model to address local social needs.
