Regional governments advance social housing projects in Argentina and Spain

In Argentina, the Provincial Housing Institute (IPV) is set to deliver 80 social housing units in Laguna Blanca. Marcelo Ugelli, administrator of the IPV, stated that the project is part of a provincial program funded by local resources. This decision follows the cessation of national funding and the dissolution of previous federal housing agencies and funds. The provincial government aims to continue social housing plans across 28 localities using its own budget.

In Spain, the municipality of San Fernando is preparing to deliver 81 social rental homes in the Ronda del Estero development this November. The project involved an 11 million euro investment, with 4.1 million euros provided by the City Council and 6.6 million euros sourced from European funds via the Spanish government and the Junta de Andalucía. Monthly rents for these units are expected to range between 165 and 260 euros, aimed at assisting families currently living in multi-generational households due to housing shortages.
