Regional governments in South Kalimantan and Maros present 2027 budget drafts
Local governments in Indonesia have presented their 2027 draft regional budgets (RAPBD). In South Kalimantan, the provincial government projected a revenue of Rp8.003 trillion against an expenditure of Rp8.603 trillion, resulting in a Rp600 billion deficit. To cover this gap, the province plans to utilize Rp700 billion from previous budget surpluses, with Rp100 billion allocated for regional capital participation.
In Maros Regency, the 2027 budget draft projects revenues of approximately Rp1.417 trillion and expenditures of Rp1.517 trillion. Regent Chaidir Syam emphasized the importance of maintaining budget stability to support over 11,000 civil servants (ASN), including PNS and PPPK staff. The Maros administration also plans to prioritize education infrastructure, including the construction of new schools in the Mandai and Moncongloe districts to accommodate rapid population growth.
