Regional harvest festivals scheduled in Wildenwart and Bayreuth
Various regional harvest festivals, known as Erntedank, are scheduled for early October in Germany.
In Wildenwart, the Catholic Land Youth Movement (KLJB) and local altar servers will host a celebration on October 4, 2026. The event includes a celebratory Eucharist service, a solidarity initiative called ‘Minibrot’ to support global youth projects, and a traditional cake sale to benefit the parish.
In Bayreuth, the Upper Franconia district and the Bayreuth Land Youth Association are organizing a traditional harvest festival at the Agricultural Teaching Institute. The program features an ecumenical service, a folk dance competition, and an award ceremony for harvest crowns. The event will include open stable tours focusing on cattle and sheep farming, as the Upper Franconian Sheep Breeders Association celebrates its 75th anniversary. Over 80 exhibitors will showcase modern agricultural technology, renewable energy information, and regional products.
