Regional health initiatives target school-based disease prevention

Health authorities in Formosa, Argentina, and Lam Dong, Vietnam, have implemented regional initiatives to improve disease prevention and awareness within school environments.

In Formosa, professionals from the San Antonio health center conducted educational sessions for students at EPES N. º 91. The program focused on the oral manifestations of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), teaching students to identify symptoms such as sores, spots, and warts in the mouth, lips, and throat. The initiative emphasized the importance of using condoms to prevent transmission through unprotected oral sex.

In Lam Dong, Vietnam, the Provincial People's Committee has ordered intensified prevention and control measures for hand-foot-and-mouth disease in schools. The directive mandates increased surveillance and hygiene protocols, including rigorous cleaning of classrooms and shared spaces, proper ventilation, and frequent handwashing to protect young children from the viral infection.
