Regional heritage preservation efforts focus on Spanish culinary and oral traditions

Various regional initiatives in Spain are working to preserve local heritage and traditional knowledge. In the Serranía de Cuenca, lamb has become a central element of the gastronomic identity, reflecting the area's long-standing livestock traditions and the relationship between the rural landscape and local cuisine.

In the Valle del Ambroz, the ‘Raíces con Futuro’ project is focused on rescuing the intangible memory of local women. Through community meetings across several municipalities, the initiative aims to document recipes, traditional remedies, songs, trades, and oral histories that have been passed down through generations to prevent them from disappearing.
