Regional high school cross country teams compete in multi-state meets

Harlan and Harlan County cross country teams secured victories at the Arrow B. Ranch Invitational in Jonesville, Virginia. The Lady Bears won the girls varsity race with 18 points, led by Gracie Roberts with a time of 21:07.33. The Black Bears took the boys varsity title with 22 points. The Green Dragons and Lady Dragons placed third in their respective varsity races.

In other regional competition, the Tygarts Valley cross country team participated in the Braxton County No Excuses Invitational in Sutton. Taren Bennett led the Bulldogs with a time of 29:21. The Tygarts Valley program is currently in its first year of existence.

Elkins High School teams competed in the championship division of the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational at E. P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The teams achieved a new school record, including two medalists and 11 personal records.
