Regional hiking initiatives promote slow tourism in Italy

Various regional hiking initiatives are promoting slow tourism across Italy. In the Carnia region, Trekking Italia has organized a two-day walking tour for September 19 and 20. The route traverses the Val Degano, Val Pesarina, and Valcalda valleys, connecting several municipalities including Ovaro, Prato Carnico, and Ravascletto. The trek is part of an ecomuseum project designed to foster social connections and environmental respect through local knowledge and interaction with residents.

In the Novara hills of Upper Piedmont, the 'Cammino delle colline novaresi' continues to expand. Managed by the Borgomanero section of the Club Alpino Italiano, the network now involves 26 municipalities. The project offers four different hiking variants focused on local landscapes and viticultural traditions. Recent developments include the integration of the route into the 'Cammini d'Italia' platform and upcoming promotional events, such as a walk through the Boca hills in September.
