Regional industrial upgrades and AI development in China

Regional authorities in China are advancing industrial modernization through digitalization, artificial intelligence, and large-scale infrastructure investment.

In Shanghai's Jinshan District, 20 projects have been selected for the 2026 industrial digital transformation support program. Key participants include the Shanghai New Jinshan Investment Holding Group and Unilever Food (China) Co., Ltd., focusing on areas such as smart energy management, intelligent warehousing, and automated production.

In Guangzhou's Yuexiu District, a summit for the Guangdong Embodied Intelligence Application Scenario Competition highlighted the commercialization of AI. The event featured the release of 11 AI application scenarios covering healthcare, education, and commerce, alongside various large language models from providers like China Telecom and Southern News.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou's Tianhe District held a project promotion conference announcing 210 high-quality projects with a total investment exceeding 100 billion yuan. These projects encompass urban renewal, infrastructure, and industrial construction, involving both government and social investment across sectors like waterworks, education, and medical facilities.
