Regional infrastructure and technology developments across Italy
Various regional development and infrastructure projects are underway across Italy. In Ravenna, the Sinapsi project is being launched at the Altmann Sapir Intermodal Autoterminal. This €25.4 million research and development initiative, supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region with a €1.09 million contribution, utilizes artificial intelligence and Digital Twin technology to optimize automotive logistics by integrating road, rail, and sea transport flows.
In Genoa, the municipal government has approved a 90-year surface right for the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Villa Musso Piantelli, and surrounding areas. The redevelopment plan involves a public-private partnership with a private investment of approximately €108 million, aimed at modernizing the facility and improving local cultural and social spaces.
In the Veneto region, authorities are moving toward a unified regional transport ticketing system. A €2.9 million funding allocation to Infrastrutture Venete Srl will support the creation of a digital platform. This system aims to allow passengers to travel via bus, train, tram, and watercraft using a single ‘tap’ of a credit card or digital device, with full operational service expected by 2028.
